Calling for ideas to Re-think Risk Return Impact - Answer the Three Questions

ree

Seeking brainstorming ideas to accelerate innovation in impact investing - contribute your insights to Re-think Risk Return Impact by answering three questions through my https://haas.berkeley.edu/cssl/faculty/si-fellows-visiting-scholars/ initiative at: https://www.innovateimpact.org/re-think-risk-return-impact. This project is shaped by these core assumptions:

Catalyze the toolkit - Impact investing can generate superior risk-adjusted blended returns and magnify resources across the full spectrum of investors and their objectives (from an alpha-seeking private equity fund to a mission-driven philanthropy), but requires further breakthrough innovation to realize its full potential.

Strengthen the foundation - Increased synthesis of public, private and philanthropic markets can leverage resources, concepts, and talent.

Think long-term - Breakthrough ideas with 10-year horizons can guide the field and drive practical solutions – first spending time to articulate the “what” that needs to happen (no matter how far-fetched) can help us collectively figure out the “how”.

Trust the process – This initial brainstorming exercise is more powerful by casting the net wide (engaging impact investing experts, emerging leaders, different industries, academia, government, technology advocates, and skeptics) and loose (open questions without pre-judgement).  The next phase of the project will mine and shape these ideas into a short list of tangible action items.

Much appreciation to friends, colleagues, and Berkeley Haas Center for Social Sector Leadership for insights and support. Thanks in advance to everyone for your ideas and passing this on to others to contribute their insights.
