After synthesizing the insights from the Three Questions Pilot, I decided the best way to proceed was to create a single holistic idea that could generate robust dialogue and yield breakthrough innovation.
Project Xi (pronounced “zee”) helps investors navigate a more complex world and achieve superior results by unlocking better shared intelligence across risk, return, and impact. This initiative builds on existing signal-discovery efforts by exploring a shared, open intelligence platform that enables more investors across the capital spectrum to act on predictive insights that drive superior results. Project Xi seeks to be both a public good infrastructure and a next-generation commercial tool, enabling each investor to stay true to their individual mandate while operating more intelligently within a dynamic ecosystem.
This proposal is the evolution of my exploration to accelerate innovation in impact investing, particularly re-thinking risk return impact and catalyzing ecosystem leaders. For the first half of 2025, the Three Questions Pilot helped brainstorm ideas. From this exercise, consistent themes emerged: How can we identify and prove superior investment results across risk return impact? How can we meet deeply customized needs across the full range of investors? How can we use emerging technologies to overcome persistent challenges?
The idea of an open intelligence platform for predictive investment signals addresses these themes in a holistic way to catalyze further discussion. The Project Xi white paper outlines the proposal in more depth, and I welcome ongoing participation from the emerging and seasoned leaders in the field to continue the conversation.
